What this quote is saying is that when you do something good like go to a ceremony because you do good in school  and your mom and dad are proud of you, you feel good because maybe you usually get bad grades.  The other one when i do bad, i feel bad is when you go to parent conference and your mom finds out that you have 3 F's and she tells you that she is dissapointed in you and then at home she doesn't even hit you because shes to sad.
